This is an invitation to apply to participate in a year-long training programme for culture professionals in the field of audience development.
What is the Audience Development Programme?
It is all about gaining extensive knowledge and skills in the field of audience development in order to introduce the concept into an organisations daily practice.
The Programme consists of two parts. The first part is planned as a series of workshops:
1. GETTING STARTED WITH AUDIENCE DEVELOPMENT
2. BEING SMART ABOUT IT: STRATEGICAL PLANNING
3. KNOWING WHY, WHAT AND FOR/WITH WHOM: AUDIENCE RESEARCH!
4. GETTING THROUGH WITH THE MESSAGE: MARKETING AND COMMUNICATION
5. GOING DEEP: CO-CREATION AND PARTICIPATION, ACCESSIBILITY
6. CONNECTING THE DOTS: AUDIENCE DEVELOPMENT PLAN
7. PLAN, PRESENT AND REPRESENT! & PROBLEMS, PROBLEMS – HOW ARE YOU GOING TO SOLVE THEM?
The second part of the programme consists of one-on-one assistance: mentoring and consultations responding to the individual needs of participants and their organisations. Within this part, participants will receive tailor-made solutions and an individualised approach in order to help them in introducing audience development into their organisation. This will be provided in the programme by experts/mentors.
Who is going to deliver the training?
The programme is coordinated by Impact Foundation Poland with experts conducting workshops and acting as mentors coming from all over the Europe.
What can be expected from participation in the Programme?
It is going to be intensive but exciting, informal and fun at the same time! There will be no pressure to deliver immediate results and there will be time for reflection, for new knowledge to sink in and to develop new skills. This will all be delivered with respect of the specific situation and responding to the needs of the participating organisations.
How is this educational Programme different from others?
The frame of the programme is designed but there is space to add/change it in order to better respond to the needs of participants.
There will be no tests, no exams and no pressure on participants to deliver specific outcomes apart from their motivation, dedication and attendance of the planned activities.
Who can apply?
Any cultural organisation – be it Public, NGO, or a private company in any given art field – theatre, dance, visual art, cultural education, design, multidisciplinary, etc., that is interested in introducing audience development into its daily practice.
Cultural professionals on behalf of the organisation. In order to apply for participation in the programme, cultural professionals should:
get a “green light” from their organisation to participate in the programme on behalf of the organisation/institution (one of the reasons for that is that participation requires attendance to a series of workshops taking place during the working week); find a partner/colleague within the organisation to apply with (there are two spots per organisation secured in the training programme).
How is the application procedure going to look like?
There will be two stages of application procedure:
1. On-line application form: interested organisations need to fill-in the on-line application form (it is a simple form requiring basic information on the organisation and its relationship to audiences). Deadline for applications is 14th of September,16.00 local time.
2. Interviews: if the organisation is accepted to the second stage, two designated delegates of the organisation will be invited to participate in a face-to-face interview on 5th and 6th of October.
Organisations will be chosen based on both stages of the application procedure by a panel consisting of international experts and representatives of Kaunas 2022, who will assure that there is a balanced representation of cultural types and art forms. A maximum of twelve organisations will be accepted in to the first round of the programme.
