Cultural Connections is the opening conference of the Kaunas 2022 European Capital of Culture Programme. It also forms part of Kaunas’ contribution to Lithuania’s centenary celebrations.
The aim of the conference is to connect and inspire Lithuanian cultural operators with European and international ideas and best practice. It will allow delegates to exchange and share knowledge and best practice from European and other International operators, exploring case studies from European Capitals of Culture and other major cultural events.
The conference will comprise a mix of keynote speeches from major national and international speakers, together with practical workshop and networking sessions with experts who have delivered successful projects in areas which we see as crucial to the Kaunas 2022 vision.
Case studies will particularly focus on examples of projects that:

∙ Find innovative and new models of cross-sectorial, cross-institutional and international partnerships;
∙ Build connectivity and a more outward facing approach for cultural operators and organisations;
∙ Involve young people, communities and diverse social groups in designing and co-creating outstanding and accessible work;
∙ Connect with audiences in the heart of communities.
