Fluxus festival organized by „Kaunas – European Capital of Culture 2022“ community programme Fluxus Labs! is looking for professional artists and creators from various fields to enrich event with their performances!

Do You admire fluxus and have already tried performance art? Or maybe You are thinking of trying yourself in this field? Fluxus festival can help make Your performance happen by providing stage and resources!

Selected creators will be invited to perform their creative initiatives in the Fluxus festival on the 10^th of September in Kaunas. Join us and share Your unique interpretation of fluxus.

The following questions might be of use by taking Your idea further:

• What does fluxus mean to You? How could You express it with a performance?
• What tools do You need to implement Your idea?
• What is the role of the audience in Your performance? Consider how You could involve the visitors of the festival in Your performance. Maybe You could provide them with opportunity to try or see something new and/or unexpected?
• Your performance will take place in the mid-September. The festival is held outside in the late evening. Consider where could Your performance take place – on the ground, stage or maybe in the tree?
• If the godfather of fluxus movement Jurgis Mačiūnas was alive today, what kind of event, performance or creative initiative he would suggest for this occasion?
• Theme of Fluxus festival this year: FLUXUS: INSTRUCTIONS. Make sure to reflect it in Your performance.

WHAT’S NEXT?

Selected artists will be invited to collaborate and perform in Fluxus festival this year.

The performances will be chosen in accordance with the following criteria:

• Originality of the idea
• Implementation of the idea
• Competence and experience of the artist
• Reflection of the festival’s theme FLUXUS:INSTRUCTIONS

We will take care of the accommodation (2 nights) and catering for the festival day, as well as the performance-related expenses.
