Kaunas and I

I was not raised in Kaunas, but for me, Kaunas is like a second home. My father, my mother, my first love, and my first videotape originate from Kaunas, even my first video film was seen in Kaunas. I started playing in Kaunas, my first concert took place at some Vytautas Magnus University festival in autumn when I was 16 years old.

I spent a lot of time in Žaliakalnis with my grandmother. Although we had moved to Vilnius long time before, where we lived and grew up, those times when we were brought to my grandmother’s bring the most vivid memories. This is my relation, all started there.

I sincerely wish Kaunas to continue to surprise, lead and become a significant European capital of culture.
