Tampere2026 – participate in the open call for programme proposals

Tampere and the Tampere Region’s European Capital of Culture 2026 bid is looking for your programme proposals for 2026 and the preceding years. The call for programme proposals is now open − you can submit proposals until Tuesday, 15 October 2019.

The best proposals will be selected as part of the programme plan of Tampere Region’s Capital of Culture bid. The first bidding phase, which will be submitted to the Board in 5 May 2020, presents a programme plan for 2026 and the years preceding it and describes the potentially carried out programme proposals.  If Tampere and the Tampere Region make it to the second bidding round, the plans will be developed and improved according to the Board’s feedback for a second bidding phase in 2021.

The Capital of Culture will be built together with Tampere, Mänttä-Vilppula and 15 other municipalities in the Tampere Region. Programme proposals are an important part of the European Capital of Culture bid that will be submitted in May 2020. In order to make an application that fully represents us, the people of Tampere Region, we hope for content and project proposals from everyone. The call for proposals is open to everybody: you can submit a proposal as either a private person or on behalf of a group or organisation.
