In this project the composer of electronic music Arūnas Periokas seeks to create an emotional connection between the listener and Kaunas modernist architecture. The creative process started with the search for sound in selected buildings: a field research allowed him to understand the specific acoustics of modernist buildings and to record the sounds and conversations with people working and living in these buildings. Arūnas was interested in the sound of interior and exterior elements of modernist buildings, their rhythms, emerging melodies, the volume of the premises. An archival research was also carried out: Arūnas searched for the interwar sounds and its features.

The collected sound of modernist architecture was creatively processed in a recording studio: the moods of modernist buildings and the stories of the people living there were revealed by acoustic instruments and sound manipulations. The created music will be released as an independent piece of music (album), and later it will be adapted to the video art project created by Aideen Barry and Kaunas community as a soundtrack; it will invite you to listen to architecture as it is now and to understand the future of this architectural heritage and increase its visibility not only in Lithuania, but also all around the world.
