Digital champions
The goal of the project “Forgotten Masterpieces: Capacity Building and Knowledge Exchange in Architecture through Digitisation” – FOMA is to create an innovative approach to sharing knowledge about architecture using digital means. The project aims to create a virtual and accessible architectural archive documenting the 20th century city buildings. In this way, we invite you to look back and highlight the importance of modern European architecture for today’s urban environment.
Selected collaborating organisations and “digital champions” will gain understanding of digital strategies during the project and become “ambassadors” of digital transformations in the architecture.
“Digital champions” of Kaunas – Evaldas Vilkončius and Huriye Armağan Doğan, using given archives are about to create a broad modernist city map throughout the project. In the building list – as many as 300 objects from 20th century located in Kaunas city and its’ district. The selection include a wide range of various function buildings – from private residential houses to administrative and commercial objects.
All the information collected by the “digital champions” will be uploaded to a virtual and open archive of architecture – the FOMA page, where other professionals and enthusiasts will be able to contribute to the collection of data on 20th century buildings.
