March 20 the world celebrates International Day of Happiness. The official ambassadors of this day in Lithuania – Kaunas – European Capital of Culture 2022 team – together with more than 90 partners for this year’s celebration have planned more than 150 events to spread the ideas on sustainable lifestyle and ecology. Organizers report that, in the interest of public health, scheduled events are beeing postponed until the danger from the coranavirus passes.
“In response to the circumstances, we act civil therefore we postpone all – even the smallest planned events,” – says Virginija Vitkienė, Head of Kaunas 2022.
Instead of the activities planned during the Day of Happiness, the organizers of the celebration will offer a virtual engagement program.
“As we have a lot of time to spend at home in the near future, we will be sharing and inviting others to share ideas on how to be with culture while staying at home during this year’s Day of Happiness,” – says V. Vitkienė.
Organizers are planning to announce an alternative International Day of Happiness program soon, so follow the organization’s news.

All events are postponed, but work does not stop
Kaunas 2022 informs that in addition to the activities of the Day of Happiness, all other events of the organization will also be postponed until it becomes safe to come together again.
