Liene holds a bachelor degree in the programme of Latvian-French intercultural relationships, obtained at the Latvian Academy of Culture. During her studies, she started working at the French Institute in Latvia (former French Cultural Centre), spending around seven years there as an administrative assistant at the department for language courses. Later, as a librarian in the media library, she took care of French books, music, films, organising different activities related to French culture. Liene has also spent five months in Brussels with a translation traineeship at the Council of the European Union. After that, she focused more on the fields of education, administrative and human resources, while working in Jules Verne Riga French School as the head of administration for two years, then for the last three years responsible directly for any recruitment projects in retail at a company called Stockmann. Now, she’s back within the culture field, ready to take care of the Creative Europe desk here in Riga.
