Folkestone Triennial Curator, professor, 1990-2000 Director of Tate Liverpool, 2000-2011 Artistic Director of Liverpool Biennial. Lewis is currently Distinguished Professor of Public Art at the University of Shanghai, and a Trustee of the Liverpool John Moores Exhibition Trust, the International Award for Art Criticism and the Institute for Public Art, of which he is the Chair. He was co-curator for the 2013 Aichi Triennale (Nagoya, Japan), curator of Land Art Mongolia 2018, and is the Artistic Director of the public art programme for Kaunas European Capital of Culture 2022.
