Reconstructing the World / UNESCO Creative Cities Discussion on Understanding Design

With 9 new cities joining network Asahikawa, Baku, Bangkok, Cebu, Fortaleza, Hanoi, Muharraq, Querétaro, San José – now the network counts 40 design cities.

The highlight of the meeting was the virtual panel discussion “The Power if Design ti React and Restart the World” organized and broadcast from the office of “Kaunas – European Capital for Culture 2022”. The international discussion was about the examples of inspiring Design cities of how innovative design solutions have been used to help communities adapt, stay safe and keep in touch with each other in these unprecedented times.  Cape Town, Dundee, Geelong, Helsinki, Kortrijk, Montreal, Saint-Etienne, Singapore, Kaunas, Curitiba and Wuhan cities presented their projects to an audience more than 1700 viewers from all over the world.
