Kaunas – European Capital of Culture 2022 “Design for Happiness” program is looking for graphic designers, illustrators, painters and artists from other fields who are ready to embark on a cultural adventure and create a work of art by decorating the K-Totem spatial sculpture at the Founding Seimas Square! The intersection next to the square is one of the busiest in the city, so you can be sure that thousands of people will see your artwork every day! What’s more, in October this year, Kaunas will host an unprecedented event – the International Design Networks Forum, to which the new sculpture will be dedicated.
“The K-Totem sculpture was donated to Kaunas in 2021 by the city of Kortrijk in Belgium, and the work of art has become part of the everyday life of the citizens of Kaunas, and has become a kind of a space for the city’s topical issues and the citizens’ self-expression. The sculpture is almost 3.5 m high and is based on a metal structure on which aluminum composite panels are mounted and UV-printed.
The visuals submitted for the selection must correspond to one of the following themes:

WHAT NEXT?
The authors of the visuals that have been registered and made it to the next stage will be informed of the next steps by 31 August 2022.
The K-Totem artwork will be implemented in October this year.
We have set an honorarium of EUR 500 for the author of the selected idea.
