Kaunas – European Capital of Culture 2022 presents the exhibition “Woven Art – Avant-garde Carpets from Europe and America in the 20th Century” organized by Laura Bohne (Lithuania) and Alberto Levi (Italy).
The aim of this exhibition is to illustrate some of the most important art trends of the 20th century by presenting the most representative examples of each of the avant-garde movements characteristic of this period. The exhibition will feature artists such as Jean Lurçat, Jacques Borker and Laila Karttunen,
Carpets by Ivan Da Silva Bruhns, Louis Marcoussis, Ralph Pearson, Frank Stella, Jean Burkhalter, as well as collector Dainius Lanauskas’s 1920-1955 furniture by designers Jonas Prapuolensis, Jonas Virakas, and the architect Arnas Funk.
