Uta Pottgiesser is Professor for Heritage & Technology at TU Delft in the Netherlands and Professor of Building Construction and Materials at the Detmold School of Architecture and Interior Architecture, OWL University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Germany. From 2017-2019 she served as Professor of Interior Architecture at Faculty of Design Sciences at the University of Antwerp, Belgium. In theory and practice, she is concerned with the protection, reuse and rehabilitation of the built heritage and environment. She is a licensed architect and acts as a board member of DOCOMOMO Germany and was chair of the DOCOMOMO International Specialist Committee of Technology (ISC/T) from 2016-2021. Since 2022 she is the Chair of DOCOMOMO International with its 78 national working parties and editor-in-chief of the DOCOMOMO Journal. Uta Pottgiesser studied Architecture at TU Berlin and holds a PhD from TU Dresden, both in Germany.
