Aideen Barry is a visual artist whose work has been widely exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Ireland and internationally, recently at The Centre for the Less Good Idea (SA), IMMA (IRL), CAC Malaga (ESP), The Headlands Center for the Arts (CA) The Katzen Center American University Museum Washington DC (US), Wexner Centre (US), Elephant Gallery & The Drawing Room (UK) Moderna Musett (SE), Musée des Beaux Arts, Lyon (FRA), & Louise T. Blouin Gallery, (UK).

She works across a wide variety of media that transects film, animation, sound, installation, drawing, performance & sculpture. Barry’s work is in several important Collections including Art Omi, New York, The Frances Greenburger Collection, The Ark Museum, Trinity College Dublin, The Glucksman Gallery, University College Cork, Department of Education & Skills, Office of Public Works, Centre de l’Art Contemporary, Malaga, The Butler Gallery, NUIG, The Arts Council of Ireland and the National Collection at Crawford Art Gallery.

In 2022 she premiers her first feature film Klostés commissioned by Kaunas 2022, atGalway Film FleadhArchitecture FIlm Fest Winnipeg Canada and other international festivals. Barry has received several prestigeous awards & fellowships: The Myron Marty Lectureship, Drake University (Iowa, USA 2019),  The Anderson Lectureship Penn State University (2020) The Claremorris Open, The Silent Light Film Award, The Project Award from the Arts Council of Ireland (2021), Culture Ireland funding (2019/2022), the Modern Ireland in 100 Artworks and the Royal Academy award and has been shortlisted for the AIB prize. In 2021 she won the Golden Fleece Award and the Thomas Dammann Junior Memorial Trust Award. Barry is a member of Aosdána and the Royal Hibernian Academy.
