In Romanian mythology, Striga is a living dead. Sometimes a living person can have qualities of Strigoi, and those qualities are the ability to turn into an animal. Another thing Strigoi can is to become invisible. Finally, he is able to take away life by sucking the blood of their victims.

In Romania, at all times, there was a panic because of a Strigoi, people were armed and went to the suspect’s home or place where they thought Strigoi could be hiding at.

Morag (Scottish Gaelic: Mòrag) is the nickname given to a loch monster believed by some to live in Loch Morar, Scotland. After Nessie, it is among the most written about of Scotland’s legendary monsters. “Morag”, a Scottish female name, is a pun on the name of the loch.

Reported sightings date back to 1887, and included 34 incidents by 1981. Sixteen of these involved multiple witnesses.

A widely reported claim involved two local men, Duncan McDonell and William Simpson, and their boat, with which they claimed to have accidentally struck the creature, prompting it to attack them. McDonell defended with an oar, and Simpson opened fire with his rifle, whereupon it sank slowly out of sight.

They described it as being brown, 25–30 feet long, with rough skin, three dorsal humps rising 18 inches (460 mm) above the loch’s surface, and a head a foot wide, held 18 inches (460 mm) out of the water.

The serpentine creature is said to live in Lagarfljót, a freshwater, below-sea-level, glacial-fed lake which has very poor visibility as a result of siltation.

It is described as longer than a bus, or 40 feet (12 m), and has also been reported outside the water, lying coiled up or slithering into the trees. It is a “many humps” type of lake monster, rather than the simply serpentine type of, for example, the Loch Ness Monster.

The Lagarfljót Worm has been sighted several times in modern times, including in 1963 by the head of the Icelandic National Forest Service,

A sightseeing boat named Lagarfljótsormurinn, beginning operations on the lake in 1999.
