Dr Virginija Vitkienė (Kaunas, Lithuania) is a doctor of arts, curator, head and coordinator of various international art and science projects, compiler of art publications, professor of partnership, author of art criticism articles. The leader and artistic director of the international Kaunas Biennial (2007-2018), which attracts crowds to Kaunas. The author, head and researcher of a research and practice-based project Invisible communities: study cases of community arts (2013-2014). The initiator, programme designer for the competition and art director of project Kaunas – European Capital of Culture 2022 since its foundation in 2015. The author and artistic director of Magic Carpets, a creative European platform project 2017-2021.
