@ Architecture historian, curator of the Kaunas 2022 programme “Modernism for the Future”
Architectural historian dr. Viltė Migonytė-Petrulienė was curating the programme “Modernism for the Future” at “Kaunas – European Capital of Culture 2022”. She defended her dissertation “Lithuanian Resort Architecture Between WWI and WWII (1918–1940) as a Phenomenon of a Modernizing Society” and has published a monograph, several scientific and popular articles, as well as conference presentations on the history and heritage of modern Lithuanian resort architecture. She teaches in the Art History, Criticism and Media Programme at Vytautas Magnus University (VMU), worked previously as a curator at the Kaunas Photography Gallery and at VMU’s Gallery 101, and was Head of the VMU Arts Centre. Dr. Migonytė-Petrulienė is currently involved as a curator and co-curator in different local and European projects related to the 20th century heritage and riverside and cultural tourism such as the “STAR Cities” (Interreg Europe), “Forgotten Masterpieces” (Creative Europe), and other projects.
