Marilyn is a highly experienced cultural manager. She is the CEO of the Galway Culture Company, an inter-agency organisation established to create opportunities to engage with EU and International networks, partners and stakeholders. It builds on Galway’s designations of European Capital of Culture, UNESCO City of Film, European Green Leaf and European Region of Gastronomy. Marilyn was previously head of programme at Galway 2020, European Capital of Culture, from bid to legacy phases and is currently a Member of the Selection Panel for the European Capitals of Culture (ECoC) at the European Commission, Directorate General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture. Marilyn is also a member of the European Urban Initiative pool of experts. Marilyn is a member of a number of boards including the Galway Chamber of Commerce, where she is co-chair of the policy committee.
