Immie Jonkman has a broad background in cultural events. She has organised many events and projects as a producer or director. In 2013 she started working for the Culturele Capitall Leeuwarden – Friesland 2018 (the Netherlands), among other things. She has worked there in different roles, but finally as part of the artistic team. She left the organisation after 2018 but came back in 2019 to work for the legacy of Leeuwarden-Friesland 2018. She is now the CEO of the legacy organisation and is, with her team, organising Arcadia 2022, the first of at least three Tri-annual cultural events. The first to be held this summer: a cultural manifestation of a 100 days in the region of Friesland and the city of Leeuwarden.
