\u201cThe Mythical Beast of Kaunas\u201d is a story-telling project of Kaunas.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Throughout the centuries, various things happened in Kaunas:<\/h4>\n
Vytautas the Great fought the Teutonic order, and later sailed Nemunas to baptise the Samogitians. Hanza merchants sold salt, iron and maybe something stronger. Napoleon and his marauding army ran around Kaunas, and later Russian generals ordered to build here a very interesting\u00a0by redundant fortress. Then better times arrived, and Kaunas became the temporary capital. A lot of good things happened here: Lithuanian modernism, Esperanto and Lithuanian cinema.<\/p>\n
Everything happened in Kaunas, but all these things disappeared or moved elsewhere.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n
What remained in Kaunas all this time\u00a0then?<\/h4>\n
There were always Kaunasians! The Mythical Beast of Kaunas and its story is precisely a story about those Kaunasians. The Beast has been and will be the last Kaunasian. What is it like? What\u2019s its story? How and what can be told about Kaunas?<\/p>\n

- develops\u00a0the online portal\u00a0www.kaunolegenda.lt<\/a>\u00a0(visit it and find out how to become its author)<\/li>\n
- publishes\u00a0a book for children about the European Capital of Culture programme \u201cThe Great Fairy-Tale Book of the Beast of Kaunas\u201d (coming soon to bookstores)<\/li>\n
- \u00a0employing cutting-edge technologies, develops\u00a0an\u00a0augmented reality tourist route around Kaunas (follow news, as the route can become available very soon)<\/li>\n
- creates\u00a0new and collects\u00a0all existing fairy-tales, legends and stories about Kaunas, Kaunasians, the Beast of Kaunas and other interesting things<\/li>\n
- announces\u00a0the open calls\u00a0for the artists-professionals around the globe to visualise\u00a0the Beast of Kaunas (artists can find out how to participate here)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
