From luxurious concrete villas, temples and public buildings, schools and cultural institutions, to small wooden houses. These buildings are not only places worth visiting, in which we currently live, work, dine, send and receive parcels, study, learn, receive treatment and create our own everyday life. Each and every one of them is interesting in their unique stories, discoveries, ability to be open for creative and community-based initiatives. Each of them is an opportunity. That remains unused most of the time.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner column_width_percent=”100″ position_vertical=”middle” gutter_size=”3″ back_color=”color-xsdn” overlay_alpha=”50″ border_color=”color-nhtu” border_style=”solid” shift_x=”0″ shift_y=”0″ shift_y_down=”0″ z_index=”0″ medium_width=”0″ mobile_width=”0″ width=”1/2″ css=”.vc_custom_1544103051828{border-width: 1px !important;}”][vc_gallery el_id=”gallery-135037″ medias=”101867″ gutter_size=”3″ media_items=”media|lightbox|original” screen_lg=”1000″ screen_md=”600″ screen_sm=”480″ single_overlay_opacity=”1″ single_image_coloration=”desaturated” single_padding=”2″ uncode_shortcode_id=”121725″][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_empty_space empty_h=”2″][vc_custom_heading]

What we do and how we work?

[/vc_custom_heading][vc_accordion active_tab=”0″][vc_accordion_tab title=”Kaunas Modernism 360/365″ tab_id=”1541516980-1-56″][vc_column_text]The aim of this project for the interwar period, as well as its physical heritage and modernist architecture, to become the source of memory, identity, dialogue and creativity. It will connect the modernism heritage, its ideas and urban spaces of the city. The symbol of modernist Kaunas, Resurrection Church, is one of the most inspiring examples of the idea of Die Stadkrone (The City Crown) by a German expressionist Bruno Taut. When constructing this church, it was decided to illuminate it with powerful lights. This idea was never implemented. During the interwar period, the construction of the church started and was not completed, and during the Soviet times, it was turned into a radio factory. During the Festival of Lights, by employing various conceptual solutions, this and other city buildings will light up in new colours.[/vc_column_text][/vc_accordion_tab][/vc_accordion][vc_row_inner row_inner_height_percent=”14″ overlay_alpha=”50″ gutter_size=”3″ shift_y=”0″ z_index=”0″][vc_column_inner column_width_percent=”80″ position_horizontal=”left” position_vertical=”middle” gutter_size=”3″ overlay_alpha=”50″ shift_x=”0″ shift_y=”0″ shift_y_down=”0″ z_index=”0″ medium_width=”0″ mobile_width=”0″ width=”1/2″ el_class=”atminties-contacts”][vc_column_text]

Programme curator

Viltė Migonytė-Petrulienė

vilte@kaunas2022.eu[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

Programme coordinator

Žilvinas Rinkšelis

zilvinas@kaunas2022.eu[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

Official website

Modernism for the Future[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner column_width_percent=”100″ position_vertical=”middle” gutter_size=”3″ overlay_alpha=”50″ shift_x=”0″ shift_y=”0″ shift_y_down=”0″ z_index=”0″ medium_width=”0″ mobile_width=”0″ width=”1/2″][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]

[vc_row row_height_percent=”0″ overlay_alpha=”50″ equal_height=”yes” gutter_size=”3″ column_width_percent=”100″ shift_y=”0″ z_index=”0″][vc_column column_width_percent=”100″ position_horizontal=”left” gutter_size=”3″ expand_height=”yes” overlay_alpha=”50″ shift_x=”0″ shift_y=”0″ shift_y_down=”0″ z_index=”0″ medium_width=”0″ mobile_width=”0″ sticky=”yes” […]

["post-102102","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry
["GET
