“Kaunas – European Capital of Culture 2022” project has prepared an online culture accessibility guide “Kaunas for all”. This is the first publication of its kind dedicated to cultural organizations, objects managers, and event organizers to make cultural objects and events more accessible for all social groups, especially those with special needs.<\/h4>\n

[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner row_inner_height_percent=”25″ overlay_alpha=”50″ equal_height=”yes” gutter_size=”3″ shift_y=”0″ z_index=”0″ limit_content=””][vc_column_inner column_width_percent=”100″ position_vertical=”middle” gutter_size=”3″ overlay_alpha=”50″ shift_x=”0″ shift_y=”0″ shift_y_down=”0″ z_index=”0″ medium_width=”0″ mobile_width=”0″ width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]The guide is free to use for all cultural organisations, event programmers and curators in Lithuania and other countries; it aims at rethinking one\u2019s surroundings and opening oneself to new audiences.\u00a0Signage system was created by design agency “Critical”.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt became clear that a lot of people in our society have to plan their cultural activities and time out thoroughly; they cannot improvise as they have to make sure they can actually get into a building; assure the content is suitable is for them, and so forth; we also received some particular advice \u2013 for example, white text in a black background is better for those with a disability of visibility than vice versa,\u201c\u00a0Jonas Liugaila, one of the founders of branding and service design agency Critical, says.<\/p>\n
